Hepatitis B Awareness Week Ideas
Hepatitis B Awareness Week is a 5-day event taking place throughout the nation at college and (because of you!) high school campuses.
What each chapter does for each of the 5 days is flexible, but there should be a few overarching themes among all campuses. This is a topic to discuss what these themes should be.
You do not need to discuss specific ideas for each of the 5 days until later. I will put together a basic list for you all to work with first.
Here are the notes from the collegiate chapters conference to give you a general idea:

Here are the notes from the collegiate chapters conference to give you a general idea:
1. Viral promotional video
* Will be 2 minutes in length. The same video will be distributed in all the chapters
* Will be a mash-up of all chapters, whether that is faces (the "be there, not be there" idea), or random people from each college, or shots of college campuses
* Will be uploaded on a general Team HBV Collegiate Chapter youtube channel (the channel will be made soon)
* Chapters will have the option of uploading longer, educational videos on the channel. OR if we have the manpower, we can make more educational videos that are also mash-ups
2. Social media
* The purpose of utilizing social media is to promote the video and hep B week events as well as to put our face out in the media.
* We like the idea of having the 10,000 strong for Hep B (an IOP group presentation idea), which will make chapters accountable and allow a track record of all Hep B Awareness Week events.
* We can utilize facebook, twitter, or any other social media you can suggest.
* Just FYI, we do have a FB account "National Team HBV Chapters" with 155 members, so you can also discuss about whether to revamp that page or create a separate page specifically for Hepatitis B Awareness Week (HBAW).
3. Hep B Awareness Week (HBAW) events
* Each chapter will have a 5-day HBAW outreach event. However, the activities each day will vary depending on chapter feasibility and funding
* The advisors will release a master list of all past HBAW events and successful chapter outreach events. We will try to categorize them so you can pick and choose the events that you want (high impact, educational, visibility, etc.)
* EVERY chapter will participate in the "Little People, Big Messages" project, where chapters will print small cutouts of people holding up signs with Hep B facts.
